A commander of the Lebanese Hezbollah movement has been killed in an Israeli drone attack on a car in Tyre City in southern Lebanon, a Libanese military source told Sputnik.
"An Israeli drone has carried out a guided missile attack on a car on the highway in Tyre City... as a result of which two people have been killed," the source said on Tuesday (14/5).
The source added that one of the victims of the attack was Mohammad Makki, who was a Hezbollah commander for the area of Tyre City.
Hezbollah has been exchanging air strikes with Israel since October 2023 when the situation in the region has deteriorated dramatically after Israel announced a military operation against the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, in the Gaza Strip.
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry says about 100,000 people were forced to leave their homes in southern Lebanon due to Israeli attacks.
Israel also says that some 80,000 residents of northern Israel have experienced similar situations.
